HSRU attends Healthcare Improvement Scotland Research Symposium

We were delighted to again co-sponsor the Healthcare Improvement Scotland Research Symposium which was held last week (24 April) in Edinburgh. The theme of the symposium this year was ‘Evidence for Value in an era of realistic medicine’ and featured keynote sessions from:

  • Richard Norris (Honorary Fellow at the University of Edinburgh)
  • Stirling Bryan (Scientific Director, BC support unit, Canada)
  • Helen Mackie (Chief of Medical Services for NHS Lanarkshire)
  • Derek Yuille (Deputy Director of Finance, NHS Lanarkshire)
  • Irene Oldfather (Programme Director, Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland)

HSRU’s own Shaun Treweek ran an enlightening workshop on how to get the most value for stakeholders from clinical trials, and Zoe Skea gave a fascinating oral presentation on the work undertaken by Zoe and Louise Locock on the use of feedback from the Care Opinion site.

Shaun, Louise and Zoe were joined at the event by their HSRU colleagues Miriam Brazzelli, Eilidh Duncan, Jennifer Dunsmore and Anne Buckle.
