On Friday 10th May, 2024, Dr Daria Shapovalova participated in the event “Acting on Climate Change: Policy, Rights, and Net Zero” at the University of St. Andrews.
The event, organised by the Centre for Energy Ethics, featured engaging discussion, debate, and candid reflections from key stakeholders – including MSPs, industry leaders, and local climate activists – who have shaped Scotland’s climate policy landscape.
Daria participated in the panel exploring whether climate rights should shape Net Zero action. Her presentation addressed this question from the perspective of energy land climate law, highlighting the challenges of balancing rights and obligations as the nation moves to rapidly and sustainably decarbonise.
