Funding is available for researchers to support them during their period of study. Dedicated to creating a community of research excellence, achievement, and innovation, we have a funding database of scholarships designed to fund your studies. External sources of funding are also available; these are best approached once you identify a supervisor for the project you wish to carry out.

Elphinstone Scholarships

Over five hundred years ago Bishop Elphinstone founded Kings College, which later became the University of Aberdeen. The fact that the University has become what it is today owes much to his determination and vision.

"Bishop Elphinstone invested in our future, now we're investing in yours with the new Elphinstone PhD Scholarships."

Over £1 million, the Elphinstone Scholarship Programme are offered to high-achieving students from anywhere in the world looking to begin a PhD at the University of Aberdeen. Students receiving one of these prestigious scholarships have their fees waived for each year of their PhD, giving them access to our world class facilities and programmes at no cost.
