Congratulations to our DPLP students Katrina Hall and Alexander Owen, who on 01 April 2021, won the Scottish National DPLP Negotiation Competition. The University of Aberdeen team competed against representative teams from Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Strathclyde universities, conducting mock negotiation exercises relating to partnership and lease disputes. Each team was scored across the two scenarios on preparation, conduct of the negotiation itself and post-negotiation reflection.
The selection and training of Katrina and Alex was carried out by DPLP tutors Linda Fyffe and Jo Hardie, and the School of Law’s Dr Susan Stokeld. The Aberdeen team will, as the Scottish representatives, participate in the International Negotiation Competition to be hosted online by the National University of Singapore and the Singapore International Mediation Institute between 28th June and 3rd July this year.
We wish them the very best luck!
