VC1.H1.5 Dorsal Root Ganglion
Dorsal Root Ganglion:
- The dorsal root ganglion contains the cell bodies of pseudounipolar neurons
- These are sensory neurons
- They represent the afferent branch of the spinal nerve arc
- In the micrograph identify the large rounded cell bodies of the sensory neurons
- Like all neurons, they are characterised by the presence of a large euchromatic nucleus with a prominent nucleolus
