We’ve teamed up with Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeen Inspired and the Port of Aberdeen to bring two lucky members of staff the chance to each win a pair of tickets to a Tall Ships Races Aberdeen concert of their choice this summer.
Three amazing quayside concerts will take place from 18-21 July when Deacon Blue, Ministry of Sound and the Kaiser Chiefs take to the stage as Peterson Seabase on Regent Quay turns into one of Scotland's biggest outdoor music venues.
If you want to be in with a chance of winning a free pair of tickets to the gig of your choice, all you have to do is send us a picture you have taken of your favourite place by the sea. From ice cream and rockpools to enjoying the majesty of a coastal panorama or soaking up the sun in a tropical paradise, send us your favourite seaside piccies and you’ll be entered into the draw.
Even if you miss out on the big prize, you can still be a winner. In addition to the two sets of tickets we’ve also got a Tall Ships Races Aberdeen goodie bag to give away, jam-packed with branded Tall Ships merchandise including a tea towel, a water bottle, mug and fridge magnet – knot too shabby!

Terms & Conditions
- Entrants must be on the current University of Aberdeen Staff News distribution list and have a valid University-issued staff photo ID card.
- Participation in the competition is limited to one entry per person.
- The competition opens on Thursday, 29 May 2025 and will close at 5pm on Wednesday, 18 June 2025.
- All valid entries will be entered into a prize draw, with the winners drawn at random on Thursday, 19 June 2025.
- Winners will be required to confirm the concert they wish to attend by 5pm on Monday, 23 June 2025.
- In addition to Deacon Blue (18 July), Ministry of Sound (19 July) and Kaiser Chiefs (21 July), a fourth concert takes place on Sunday 20 July. The Tide Lines and Calum Bowie event is non-ticketed and is therefore not included in the prize giveaway.
- Please note: Photographic entries will be collated into a video which will be shared in an issue of Staff News. By submitting a photograph you are consenting to it being included and shared in this way.
- The prize cannot be sold, transferred or replaced.
- Please note entry to the concerts is for those over 14 years old. Under-16s must be accompanied by an adult aged 21 or over. A full list of FAQs for the concerts can be found on the Tall Ships page of the City Council website.
