Further to the recent e-mail from your Head of School please see below relevant information in connection with the voluntary severance scheme.
The VS scheme is open for Expressions of Interest to receive your indicative figures from today until 10 August 2026. On the basis of staff leaving the University by the latest date of 31 December 2026, the terms available are on a severance payment calculated on the basis of a payment up to equivalent for 12 months' salary where the individual has completed five years' service with the University. This payment will include the appropriate payment for an individual for their notice period. There is a separate scheme for colleagues who have less than five years' service (with a one year qualifying period) where a severance payment is calculated on the basis of a payment up to equivalent of nine months' salary. This payment will include the appropriate payment for an individual for their notice period.

Staff who are over 55 may wish to enquire about utilising the severance payment to enhance their pension benefits as a part of a retirement package.
