In 2026 there were 21 posters on display. Please have a look at the Academic Development Symposium Poster Booklet. The poster e-booklet showcases pedagogical research and teaching practice from across the University. The posters align with the Symposium's theme 'From Participation to Belonging: Exploring Student and Staff Perspectives on Engagement Across Diverse Learner Journeys'. All posters were displayed on digital screens.
Two awards were made this year.

Timothy Riley, Digital & Information Services was awarded the Digital Accessibility Poster Award for 'Who's afraid of copyright?!' poster.
The Digital Accessibility Award was selected by a judging panel consisting of staff in the Digital Skills team and the Centre for Academic Development, who have received extensive training in digital accessibility.
The posters were judged on adherence to digital accessibility standards including:
- Legibility and clarity of the way information is presented.
- Logic of the reading order, including when using assistive technologies.
- Sufficiency of the colour contrast between text and background.
- Availability of text alternatives for visual content.
- Use of a variety of methods to convey information.
- The Popular Vote Award

Ailsa MacLeod, Jack Beechey, Holly Bryan, Jihoon Kim, Màiri Blok and Samuel McWhinnie from the Student-led Maths Education Group (SMEG) were awarded the Popular Vote Poster Award for their poster titled 'Creating opportunities for group work to foster a sense of community in undergraduate studies'.
The Popular Vote Award was be voted for by the Symposium delegates on the day using the below criteria:
- Creativity, visual appeal and flair of the poster
- Legibility and clarity of the information presented
- Balance of text and diagrammatic information
- Succinctness of the information presented
- Innovative teaching and learning or research content
