Join the Women's Development Network to celebrate IWD 2025 on Wednesday 5 March in the Craig Suite, 7th Floor, The Sir Duncan Rice Library and for a Wellbeing walk on Thursday 6 March
As well providing an opportunity to come together as a community our panel of speakers will bring a wealth of experience and different perspectives about this year's theme "Accelerate Action". Hosted by Vice Principal Jo-Anne Murray, our panel of speakers include:
Clare Livingston – Interim Director of Advancement Development
A graduate of the University, Clare has, for the most part of her career, been part of the DAR team. Clare was previously a Consultant with Marts & Lundy, an international strategic fundraising consulting firm. She has been a speaker/contributor for the Council for Advancement and Support for Education, the Institute of Fundraising, and the Institute of Development Professionals for Education. Clare is also a Former Trustee of SensationALL, a local charity that supports families of children with additional special needs, Team Jack, a national charity that support families and children impacted by childhood cancer and a Parent Volunteer for Young Lives Vs Cancer.
Julie Ashworth – Chair of Court
Round the World Yachtswoman, Julie Ashworth is Chair of Court of The University of Aberdeen. She has had a varied career including corporate experience in Retail, Technology, Hospitality & Leisure. She founded BroadReachltd, a Leadership Development company over 10 years ago and they continue to work with clients in the UK and abroad.
Heather Morgan – Senior lecturer in Applied Health Sciences and Dean for Enterprise and Innovation
Heather is the University of Aberdeen's first Dean for Enterprise and Innovation and is Senior Lecturer in Applied Health Sciences. Heather was previously a postdoctoral researcher in Health Services Research before moving to the Teaching and Scholarship track as a Lecturer. Heather has an MRes and PhD in Social Sciences and a Law and French undergraduate degree, all from the University of Aberdeen. Outside of work, Heather has been a marathon-completing runner and is currently training to represent the University in the 30th Aberdeen Annual Boat Race.
