The 25th Cochrane Colloquium took place in Edinburgh from 16th to 18th September 2018. The theme of the Colloquium was ‘Cochrane for all - better evidence for better health decisions’ - to emphasize that Cochrane welcomes everyone and that patients and health consumers are the focus of Cochrane work and activities. The 25th Cochrane Colloquium
The Unit was well-represented at the Colloquium, with a number of presentations delivered by HSRU staff (Clare Robertson, Mari Imamura, Jemma Hudson and Miriam Brazzelli). Plenary sessions were interesting and stimulating such as ‘Working together, understanding and learning from patients’ experiences’. There were also a number of special sessions on a variety of topics and a wide range of methodological workshops. Special sessions covered issues like ‘The trouble with patient and public involvement (PPI): a discussion’; ‘Who gets to define the impact of research: a patient centric approach’ and ‘Advocating for evidence: collaborating to promote consistent use of patient-important outcomes in research’. Next year Cochrane Colloquium will take place in Santiago, Chile.
