Campus-wide electrical testing of all RCDs/RCBOs will now take place on annual basis across all university buildings from 12 October 2015.
Campus-wide electrical testing of all Residual Current Devices and Residual Current Breaker with Overcurrent devices is being undertaken across all university buildings. The University must complete this testing on an annual basis to comply with critical electrical safety legislation.
To minimise disruption, testing will take place outwith core office hours, taking place between 20:00-05:00, Monday – Thursday. A schedule of buildings that will be tested this year is available below.
We will contact each department near the time of testing to confirm dates. Building staff contacts will be informed on a daily basis of progress and of completed works.
Staff should ensure all equipment is unplugged from socket outlets on the evening of testing and each evening thereafter until advised of test completion.
