I am pleased to say that the Sir Duncan Rice Library will reopen tomorrow (Thursday 7 August), however due to ongoing issues related to the sprinkler system there will be access limitations in the short-term at least.
The library will open tomorrow, Thursday 7 August, and Friday 8 August from 8.30am - 5.00pm only with an occupancy capacity limit of 150 users at any one time. We will not open on Saturday.
Limiting numbers means that the current fire protocols in place are more than enough to ensure safety of all occupants while the essential maintenance work is carried out.
At this time of year maximum occupancy tends to be far fewer than 150, so the cap is not anticipated to affect users during weekdays. However, we appreciate the limited hours may impact those who use the library in the evenings and at the weekend and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
The Medical Library will remain open in the evenings and at weekends and the Taylor Library is also open weekdays. Full details of all the library opening times are here.
We are currently preparing for the same restrictions to be in place next week (w/c Mon 11 Aug) but will issue an update if that changes.
Kind regards
Simon and Ian
