SafeZone is a free app that connects you to the University Security Team if you ever need urgent help, first aid or if you have an emergency while on campus.
It is an invaluable resource that exists to keep our campus communities and visitors safe.
It’s a win-win: Download SafeZone to improve your access to support and security on campus while also giving yourself a chance to win these fantastic prizes!

How to enter
To enter this exciting competition, all you need to do is download the SafeZone app and register with your University email address.
Once you are logged in, click on the three lines in the top left corner which will bring up the menu with your profile at the top.
Send a screenshot of the app’s menu with your profile at the top to competitions@abdn.ac.uk with the subject line ‘SafeZone competition’ to be in with a chance of winning. You can see an example of the screenshot required below.
Everyone who submits an entry will go into the prize draw – it doesn’t matter if you’ve had SafeZone downloaded for years or minutes.

Terms & Conditions
- Entrants must be on the current University of Aberdeen Staff News distribution list.
- Participation for the competition prize is limited to one entry per person.
- Entrants must use their University of Aberdeen email address to participate.
- The competition opens on Thursday, 2 October 2025 and will close at 9.30am on Thursday, 23 October 2025.
- All entries will be entered into the prize draw, with the weekly winner drawn at random on the morning of 23 October.
- The winner will be contacted by the University directly and their name will feature in Staff News on 23 October.
- The UoA reserves the right to amend or waive any of these terms and conditions or cancel the competition at any time.
- Entry to the competition confirms your acceptance of these terms and conditions.
