University and College Union
The University of Aberdeen recognises the University and College Union (UCU) as the appropriate Trades Union for the purposes of consultation and negotiation on the terms and conditions of employment of all staff employed at Grade 5 and above, including employed postgraduates. The UCU has undertaken to consult the BMA on matters affecting medically qualified staff.

UNISON
The University of Aberdeen recognises UNISON as the sole Trades Union for consultation on collective issues affecting Secretarial and Clerical Staff (other than for those matters negotiated between UCEA and UNISON at national level).
UNISON is also recognised as the lead Trade Union in respect of Manual & Ancillary Support Staff at the University. UNISON is also recognised jointly with UCU in respect of Administrative Staff.
