Gaelic Language Plan for 2025 to 2030 / Phlana Gàidhlig an Oilthigh 2025 gu 2030

The Gaelic Language Plan sets out a series of principles and commitments which endeavours to develop the use, learning and visibility of Gaelic at the University over the next five years.

Tha am Plana Gàidhlig a' mìneachadh sreath de phrionnsapalan agus de ghealltanasan a tha a' dèanamh oidhirp  cleachdadh, ionnsachadh agus faicsinneachd na Gàidhlig a leasachadh san Oilthigh thar nan còig bliadhna a tha romhainn.

The University’s Senior Management Team and I are committed to supporting the national aim of increasing the number of Gaelic-speakers in Scotland and increasing our community’s awareness of and exposure to the Gaelic language and culture. The University of Aberdeen has, of course, a statutory duty under the Gaelic Language (Scotland) Act 2005 to play its part in supporting the language.  Furthermore, we are proud to embrace this responsibility with a particular focus on our local community in the North-East of Scotland.

George Boyne, Principal and Vice-Chancellor 2018-2025

Tha mi fhìn agus Àrd-Sgioba Stiùiridh an Oilthigh dealasach a thaobh taic a chur ris an amas nàiseanta air an àireamh de luchd-labhairt na Gàidhlig ann an Alba a mheudachadh, agus tha sinn ag iarraidh mothachadh ar coimhearsnachd is a follaiseachd do chànan is cultar na Gàidhlig àrdachadh.  Tha dleastanas reachdail air Oilthigh Obar Dheathain fo Achd na Gàidhlig (Alba) 2005 taic a chur ris a’ chànan. A thuilleadh air sin, tha sinn toilichte an t-uallach seo a ghabhail os làimh le cuimse shònraichte air ar coimhearsnachd ionadail ann an Iar-Thuath na h-Alba.

George Boyne, Prionnsapal agus Iar-Sheansalair 2018-2025
