Degree Classification and Award

Degree Classification and Award

Assessment is the central element of the process by which the University is able to make awards to candidates who have completed courses and programmes. The Code of Practice on Assessment introduced in September 2014, aims to ensure that the processes of assessment are conducted in a fair, consistent and transparent manner across the University.  In so doing the Code of Practice describes the University’s Common Grading Scale, the CGS, and outlines the processes for honours degree classification and progression and award at postgraduate taught level.
