Bitesize Data Protection & Health & Safety

We all have to undertake mandatory training courses, including Health and Safety, Information Security and Data Protection.

The Health and Safety training must be completed every three years and can be found here on the Be Online platform. This training is mandatory because it is vital that we are all able to work safely, take care of ourselves and others, and know what to do in moments of crisis. If you have any questions about the training please email the Health, safety & resilience Team at healthandsafety@abdn.ac.uk

As well as physical safety, our online presence can lead to risks. This is why it is important to undertake the new combined Information Security and Data Protection training which will be launched in late November 2025. More than ever we need to be vigilant about how we use information and how we store it. Cyber attacks and data breaches can be devastating both for individuals and for organisations. The further and higher education sectors are seen as a target, so the more knowledge we all have, the more it will help to thwart those intent on causing disruption.

Look out for more communications about the new Information Security and Data Protection training, or contact the Information Governance Team if you have questions at dpa@abdn.ac.uk

If you have yet to undertake your Health and Safety training, please do so as soon as you can.
