Dear colleagues,
I am pleased to announce that the Adapting for Continued Success (ACS) programme is now underway and the ACS Programme Board has met twice. As Programme Sponsor, I will provide regular updates following each Board meeting to keep you informed of our progress and to highlight how you can get involved in the various engagement activities being taken forward across the programme.
ACS Programme Board
The ACS Board met for the first time in late August, and again shortly after in early September, with encouraging progress already made.
An initial schedule has been developed for the programme, to the end of February 2026, with each of the four workstreams moving forward at a different pace under their respective Working Groups. We will be publishing the remit and composition of each Working Group, along with a summary of the work they will each be overseeing, here on the programme website, as they are developed and agreed.
Engagement Opportunities
We are looking to engage with the community as much as possible throughout this programme, and will post information on all engagement opportunities here, on the programme website.
Information Sessions
As part of this, we have arranged three informal information sessions, where the four workstream leads – myself, Fraser Bell, Hulda Sveinsdottir and Nick Edwards - will be available to speak with you about the work we are leading and the progress made to date. These events are open to anyone to attend, with no need to register in advance. If you are interested, please just come along at whatever time suits you during the course of the hour:
Drop-in Information Sessions
- Tuesday 7 October, 9.15am to 10.15am, Linklater Room, Old Aberdeen
- Tuesday 7 October, 4pm to 5pm, Linklater Room, Old Aberdeen
- Thursday 9 October, 4pm to 5pm, IMS Level 7, Foresterhill
Workstream Workshops
We will also be holding two workshops in October, with provisional dates shown below; one for the Academic Organisational Design workstream, and one for Professional Services Organisational Design. These sessions will be externally facilitated and will provide an opportunity for you to input your views and to inform thinking, to ultimately help shape the future of the University. We will come back to you shortly with details on venues and how to register an interest in attending.
Organisational Design Workshops
- Professional Services Organisational Design, Wednesday 29 October, 9.30am to 12.30pm
- Academic Organisational Design, Wednesday 29 October, 1.30pm to 4.30pm
As part of our commitment to engagement, and to ensuring that all voices have the chance to contribute throughout this process, there will be further opportunities to engage in different ways, beyond those referenced above. We will come back to you with details in due course, as further progress is made.
I hope that you have found this helpful and I will update you again next month. In the meantime, please also refer to our ACS programme website which will be kept up to date as the programme progresses.
Best wishes
Pete
