Strategic Planning at the University is designed to support delivery of Aberdeen 2040 through two key facets: planning at institutional level, and planning at School and Professional Services Directorate level.
At University level, SMT oversees delivery of an Aberdeen 2040 Implementation Plan to 2025.
At School and Professional Services Directorate level, annual plans are also developed, with a predominant focus on delivery and support for Education and Research, but also other areas of strategic importance, including Financial Sustainability.
The University has an established set of Key Performance Indicators at institutional level, set against the Aberdeen 2040 commitments; at School level, formal performance indicators are also in place, aligned to Education and Research, but also designed to drive league table rankings.
Two formal benchmarking groups have also been agreed to gauge University level performance against competitors.
