The Reward Consultation and Negotiating Group - made up of University management and trade union representatives from UCU, Unite and Unison - was formed earlier this year.
Through partnership working, its purpose is to consider and progress a range of reward workstreams, that relate to all grades, including harmonisation of terms and conditions of employment; pay structures; a 35 hr working week; reward related recommendations arising from the Equal Pay Audit and contractual arrangements including Temporary Services and Guaranteed Minimum Hours contracts.
Output from the Group so far has included the launch of the new guidance of the use of Temporary Services and Guaranteed Minimum Hours contracts which is being piloted this academic year. Discussions will continue in the New Year and a further update will follow in due course.
