On 24 July, a team from the University of Aberdeen took part in the 2019 Dennis Law Trophy Corporate 7s football tournament.
A total of 10 teams battled it out for the coveted Corporate 7s trophy, raising £1,000 for the charity in the process. This year’s worthy winners were the ‘Hutcheon Hurricanes’, from Hutcheon Services.
The event was just one of many football and sporting activities taking place during the Denis Law Legacy Trust Community Football Festival at Aberdeen Sports Village in July.
In partnership with the Scottish Football Association, Aberdeen Football Club, Aberdeen Football Club Community Trust, Streetsport, Active Girls Committee and Aberdeen & District Juvenile Football Association, and media partners The Evening Express, this annual community festival provides as many people as possible with the opportunity to participate in football and football related activities. It is one of a number of free programmes delivered by The Denis Law Legacy Trust – a registered charity that enables young people to access sport and other creative activities within their local communities.
The Corporate 7s football tournament will run again in July 2020 – may be next year, you’ll be part of the University’s winning team!
