Students at the University of Aberdeen have the opportunity to apply for a £1,000 prize designed to support research in qualitative social science.
The award is open to all current students at the University, with preference given to those studying within the School of Social Science. It aims to support students whose research interests focus on qualitative approaches to social science, particularly within the discipline of sociology.
The prize recognises the value of qualitative research in understanding complex social issues, encouraging students to explore methods such as interviews, ethnography and case studies to generate deeper insights into social life and human behaviour.
While applications are open to students across the University, priority will be given to those whose work aligns closely with sociology and related fields within the School of Social Science.
Students interested in applying should submit their applications before the closing date on 8 May 2026.
