Last Friday’s Pop‑Up Vaccination Clinic saw excellent engagement from the student community, with over 130 students receiving more than 300 essential vaccinations. An additional 300 students attended to review their vaccination history, leaving better informed and reassured about their health and vaccination status.
The clinic focused on supporting students who have moved to Scotland from overseas by offering free vaccinations that may not have been available in their home countries. It also provided an opportunity for UK‑born students to catch up on routine immunisations they may have missed during childhood.
Building on this success, the University will host two additional Pop‑Up Vaccination Clinics during BeWell Week in October:
- Tuesday 27 October – Elphinstone Hall
- Thursday 29 October – Suttie Centre
Students who have questions or concerns about their vaccinations can contact the Aberdeen City Vaccination Centre and Wellbeing Hub on 01224 555333 to speak directly with the NHS Grampian Vaccination Team.
Please note that MenB vaccinations are not offered at any vaccination clinics in Grampian. Public Health Scotland has confirmed that there is no current evidence of increased risk to students in Scotland, and that the recent MenB outbreak in Kent relates to a specific local area. They will continue to monitor the situation closely and will update universities and colleges if guidance changes.
