We are pleased to be partnering with Prosper to convene this hustings event focused on north east Scotland.

Join us to hear from the main political parties contesting the 2026 Scottish Parliament election as they outline their plans for the region:

  • Gillian Martin - Candidate for Aberdeenshire East, SNP
  • Liam Kerr - Candidate for Aberdeen Deeside and North Kincardine, Scottish Conservatives
  • Maggie Chapman - Candidate on north east regional list, Scottish Greens
  • Michael Turvey - Candidate for Aberdeen Donside, Scottish Liberal Democrats
  • James Wyllie - Candidate for Aberdeen Central, Reform UK
  • Matthew Lee - Candidate for Aberdeen Deeside and North Kincardine, Scottish Labour

Hosted by broadcaster and journalist Davy Shanks, attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions, ensuring a dynamic and interactive debate. Event timings are as follows: 

  • 17:30 - Registration and networking with refreshments
  • 18:15 - Guests to be seated for start of Panel Discussion & Q&A
  • 20:00 - Panel Discussion & Q&A to end, opportunity for further networking
  • 20:30 - Event to end

This event is open to all to attend including Prosper members, University staff, students and alumni as well as members of the local community and region.

Booking is required for this in-person event, via the link below, it will not be recorded. Registration closes at 1pm on the 21st April. 

Parking on campus is free after 16:00 for all attendees. 

A University photographer will be present at this event, please talk to a member of staff on the day if you have any questions about this.
