Present your research at the Interdisciplinary Challenges Open Sessions Day on Friday 13th October 2023
About the Open Sessions Day: Hosted by the Interdisciplinary Challenge Areas, this Open Sessions Day will provide an exciting opportunity to highlight the latest developments in interdisciplinary research and education using case studies from across the University of Aberdeen. The sessions will facilitate cross-disciplinary discussions, explore new ideas and enable informal networking, and bring together colleagues from across disciplines to develop new initiatives. Featuring flash talks, panel discussions, network introductions and poster sessions, the event will provide a unique opportunity to explore the University’s five interdisciplinary challenge areas. Our ambition is to use this day as a platform to promote interdisciplinarity, encourage networking and collaboration among colleagues, celebrate our achievements, and shape future work. Mark your diaries for Friday, 13th October, full programme details will be circulated among colleagues in the coming weeks. The Directors of the Interdisciplinary Challenge Areas invite you to present a research poster at the Interdisciplinary Challenges Open Sessions Day.We invite poster submissions of interdisciplinary projects that fall under one or more of our five interdisciplinary challenges:
- Energy Transition
- Health, Nutrition and Wellbeing
- Data and Artificial Intelligence
- Environment and Biodiversity
- Social Inclusion and Cultural Diversity
The event offers you a unique opportunity to present your research in an informal setting and to network with researchers from different disciplines and at different stages of their academic careers. The cost of producing your poster will be covered and you will able to keep a copy of your poster for use at future events.Prizes will be awarded for the best posters. Winners will be announced on the day.In the first instance you must submit an abstract of no more than 250 words describing the poster. If you would like to submit an interdisciplinary abstract for a poster for the Open Sessions day please complete this form.Posters will be displayed for the duration of the Open Sessions Day in Elphinstone Hall on Friday, 13th October. Posters must be on display for the duration of the day and you, or a member of your project team, should be available during networking and refreshment breaks to talk with attendees about your research. Key Dates:
- Wednesday 27th September – Final deadline for abstract submission
- Thursday 28th September – Notification of poster acceptance
- Thursday 5th October – Final submission of print-ready poster
Posters will need to be A1 size and must be submitted as a digital file. Please submit your poster in a PDF format via this form or to alice.toulson@abdn.ac.uk.
