If you are ready to turn your early-stage idea into a viable business, then this is your chance.
Calling all University of Aberdeen students and recent graduates!
Do you have an idea you want to turn into impact? Entries for the University of Aberdeen Take Off Accelerator 2026 are now open.
What is the Take Off Accelerator?
Over 8 weeks (19 May to 7 July), you’ll take real steps to turn your early-stage idea into a viable business. The programme runs 2 days a week:
- Tuesdays (in person, 10am to 3pm)
- Wednesdays (half day, online)
Successful candidates will work with mentors and industry experts to test, research, develop and refine their ideas, transform their thinking and unlock new opportunities.
What you’ll get from the Take Off Accelerator:
- Equity-free funding: £1,000 stipend + up to £5,000 in cash prizes to be won
- Hands-on support through practical workshops to help you understand your market, shape your value proposition, and build a viable business
- Access to founders and industry mentors who will challenge your thinking and help you grow
- Ecosystem Day: connect with Aberdeen’s wider entrepreneurial community and build your network.
- Co-working space: up to one year of renewable free tenancy at the ABVentures Zone
- Throughout the accelerator, you’ll be surrounded by peers just like you — entrepreneurial students and recent graduates who push forward together. You’ll learn from one another, share what’s working (and what isn’t), and make smarter decisions as you grow.
The Take Off Accelerator gives you the structure, mentorship, and community you need to move your idea forward.
