What is happening
We are investigating intermittent problems with Microsoft Office licencing and the University VDI service. Some users are experiencing software licence errors when launching Microsoft Office applications shortly after logging onto the VDI service. The problem appears to be timing-related, though we have not yet identified the root cause.
Workaround
After logging into the VDI, please wait 60 seconds before launching Microsoft Office applications or opening Office files. You can still use other applications or open web browsers during this time. If you do see a licence error, and you have waited 60 seconds, then we suggest rebooting the VDI session and trying again.
