Being Considerate When Parking in Residential Areas

Students living in or travelling through nearby residential streets are asked to take extra care when parking. Many of these areas have limited space, and when cars are left across driveways, entrances to flats or marked access routes, it can prevent residents from parking near their own homes.

For some households, especially those with mobility needs, young children or caring responsibilities, being unable to park close to their door causes genuine distress and disruption to daily routines. Even short-term obstruction can make it difficult for residents to leave for work, receive deliveries or access essential services.

To help maintain positive relationships within the community, please avoid blocking driveways, shared entrances, garages, footpaths or private bays. Always check local signage and ensure there is enough space for vehicles and pedestrians to pass safely.

A small amount of awareness makes a significant difference for the people who live in these neighbourhoods year-round.
