LGBTQ+ History Month in our libraries

Head along to the Sir Duncan Rice Library during LGBT+ History Month where you can view a display of books from our modern collections that were purchased as part of Gay & Lesbian Rights Campaigns in 1989 and 1991. You can see these books and read about the history of this significant collection on Floor 2. From Gay Soc in the 70s, extremely turbulent 80s to Ab-Fab in the 90s the activities of our university’s LGBTQ+ community has been extensively chronicled in The Gaudie. It’s fascinating reading back issues held in our University Collections. Taylor Library has a display focused on the Repeal of Section 28 in Scotland through the Ethical Standards in Public Life etc. (Scotland) Act 2000, one of the first Acts of the newly formed Scottish Parliament.
