Many of you will now have seen equipment like this around campus and wondered what it’s for. These air purifiers are part of our ongoing activities to reduce the risk of Covid transmission on campus. They work by taking air in at one end, catching particles, and killing bugs with UV light, then discharging clean air back into the room. Not only do they reduce the risk of Covid, but they reduce the risk of all airborne infections, and also remove airborne particulates.
Each unit has been specifically chosen and set for the space it’s in to provide the most appropriate protection. Please, therefore, avoid changing the settings or switching the units off, as this reduces the protection not only for your class but for the following classes.
