Are you finding it challenging to move forward with your writing? Why not consider participating in our upcoming 2-day inclusive PGR writing retreat, hosted on-campus in Bishop's Table (Crombie Building, PGR College). The writing retreats are an opportunity to commit to two days of sustained writing in blocks of varying lengths with embedded wellbeing breaks. Previous participants have reported a positive impact on their ability to focus and complete tasks they had been putting off. They also benefited from opportunities to connect with fellow PGR students and discuss helpful strategies which they could apply to future writing. The retreat will be led by Dr Chloe Alexander (Senior Academic Writing Adviser) and Karen Lorimer (Academic Skills Adviser, Neurodivergence) from the Student Learning Service, giving opportunities for individual specialist advice for all students to develop your own writing practices and academic writing skills, as well as considering strategies for overcoming procrastination or ‘writers’ block’, for example.
