PGR CommuniTea Series: Connecting and building Your Network, One Conversation at a Time

Drawing on their own PGR journey and career path beyond the doctorate, Frances will share practical insights on building collaborative relationships, navigating shared projects, and using partnership to create new opportunities.

Dr Frances Medaney is the Scottish Research Cultures Collaboration Manager, based at University of Aberdeen. Frances works across Scotland’s universities to build collaboration in research culture initiatives, funded by SFC. Prior to this, Frances was Deputy Head of the Researcher Hub at the University of Oxford, where she led initiatives supporting the researcher development concordat. Frances has held roles at Innovate UK and BBSRC, facilitating international research and innovation partnerships. Earlier in her career Frances was a practicing scientist, holding research roles at the University of Cambridge and in the private sector.

There will be plenty of opportunities for questions, discussions and networking as part of this session. 

The PGR CommuniTea series provides a platform for postgraduate researchers (PGRs) and their supervisors to engage in discussions dedicated to exploring key themes shaping the PGR experience whilst connecting and building the PGR community.

Held in a welcoming atmosphere, each session features an invited speaker who will share their own experiences, followed by the opportunity for attendees to engage in their own conversations, connect with fellow PGRs and supervisors or simply unwind with a cup of tea.

This series is open to all postgraduate researchers, and PGR supervisors, regardless of their field or stage in their research journey. Whether you are just starting out or nearing the completion of your degree, you will find valuable insights, social and networking opportunities through these sessions.
