Panopto is the institutional platform for hosting audio and video content within the university. This online session gives students an overview of how to create and record high-quality learning material for online delivery which may be relevant for your course work and assessments. Available to all students, Panopto can be used to create reusable, pre-recorded material which can then be shared easily with your tutors or fellow students.
The workshop will provide a basic introduction to getting started with Panopto, topics covered:
- downloading Panopto
- start recording
- basic editing
- adding automatic captions
- importing/adding an .mp4 recording
- sharing recording links.
Please note: This is essentially a beginner's session that assumes little to no prior knowledge and experience of Panopto.
Prior to joining the session, you may wish to download Panopto onto your own device, further details regarding this can be found on Toolkit: Lecture Capture (Panopto). You may also find it useful to refer to the Video: Produce a 'talking head' found on toolkit as well.
The Panopto Getting Started presentation slides are attached for information, however the session primarily focusses upon a live demonstration of using the Panopto software as opposed to providing information via a slide presentation.
