Solid State Chemistry

Solid State Chemistry

Aberdeen solid state group logoOur research involves the synthesis and discovery of novel materials which exhibit fascinating properties. We are particularly interested in structure-property relationships which enable us to tune the properties of our materials.

We are engaged in a broad range of research projects. Examples include ionic conductors, superconductors, magnetic materials and biomaterials. Our research is underpinned by state-of-the-art crystallographic studies at large scale facilities such as the ISIS neutron and muon source (UK) and the Institut Laue Langevin (France).
