Lauren Kortland has been awarded The Royal Scottish Geographical Society's University Medal, presented annually to the top graduating honours geography student at each Scottish university.
Lauren's dissertation, 'Treeline dynamics in the Cairngorms: recent change and future trajectories' supervised by Dr. Ed Schofield examined shifting patterns in one of Scotland's most ecologically significant upland environments. Lauren was presented with her medal by the Head of School of Geosciences, Prof. Muirhead on graduation day. Geography staff members wish Lauren, and all our graduates, every success for the future.
