Come and meet the staff and students to find out more about our Engineering degree programmes in Civil, Electrical & Electronic or Petroleum Engineering.
Join us on Wednesday 26 November from 3pm for our Laboratory Open Afternoon to learn more in depth information about our accredited undergraduate degree programmes in either:
During the event, you will attend a session in your chosen engineering discipline and meet our academic staff and students to learn about the specific degree and opportunities in that field. Each discipline will showcase its state-of-the-art teaching laboratories and facilities, and allow you to explore practical demonstrations, ask current students about their experiences and view individual projects relevant to that area of engineering. The event will finish with light refreshments and another chance to meet and chat informally with staff and students.

About Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Petroleum Engineering
Civil Engineering
Civil Engineering is all about the environment and infrastructure that makes up the modern world. Civil Engineers design, build and maintain our roads, railways, airports, dams, industrial facilities, power stations, coastal protection and harbour works, hospitals, sports stadiums and much more.
Electrical and Electronic Engineering
Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) is fundamental to modern society, encompassing everything from advanced computer systems and digital circuits to photonics and cutting-edge technologies like automated cars, robotics, medical equipment, and the next generation of mobile data transmission.
Petroleum Engineering
Petroleum Engineering covers topics such as petroleum geology, drilling and well engineering, and geomechanics to gain the knowledge and skills needed to develop sustainable solutions to ensure the safe recovery, processing, transportation, transmission, and utilisation of petroleum products often in challenging environments.
Our Interdisciplinary Approach
At Aberdeen, our flexible degree structure allows you to explore engineering broadly before specialising in year three. By your final year, you will study advanced courses, complete an ambitious individual project and apply your skills to real-world problems. Opportunities for paid summer research scholarships are available from year three onwards.
