As a postgraduate research student you are also part of the University-wide Postgraduate Research School. The Postgraduate Research School oversees your complete postgraduate experience and is here to support you throughout the your PhD journey, from registration to graduation. We are looking forward to welcoming you as you start your research journey with us. As a postgraduate research student you will have the opportunity to attend a university wide induction in addition to your School induction.

The PGR School will host an online induction and welcome session on Thursday 28th October 2021, where you will be able to meet your fellow  please look out for communications related to this in the coming months.

Your Development

As a PGR student you also are required to complete a mandatory training programme within the first six months of your research degree.

Getting Started with Your PhD

This year we have developed an online orientation programme that will help you prepare for and commence your research degree.

There are a series of modules that you can work through before you arrive Once you have registered you can access the remaining modules through your bespoke PGR training platform on our virtual learning environment. These modules are designed to help you establish great habits at the start of your PhD and to set you and your research up for success.
