Winter 2025 Graduation Ceremonies
The Winter Graduation Ceremonies 2025 will take place in our Elphinstone Hall at our Kings College Campus in Old Aberdeen, as indicated below.
If you wish to attend any of the ceremonies and take part in the Procession
please complete the Staff Procession Form and send to gradstaff@abdn.ac.uk. Please note that as it is now after the deadline, we may only be able to supply a gown from the University of Aberdeen.
Please note that you are asked to respond no later than Friday 31 October 2025.
Ceremony 1 – Tuesday 25 November at 10.30 a.m.
School of Geosciences – Higher and First Degrees
School of Psychology - Higher and First Degrees
Ceremony 2 – Tuesday 25 November at 1.30 p.m.
Business School – Higher and First Degrees
Ceremony 3 – Tuesday 25 November at 4.30 p.m.
School of Engineering – Higher and First Degrees
Ceremony 4 – Wednesday 26 November at 10.30 a.m.
School of Education – Higher and First Degrees
School of Language, Literature, Music and Visual Culture – Higher and First Degrees
Ceremony 5 - Wednesday 26 November at 1.30 p.m.
School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition – Higher Degrees (Taught Only)
Ceremony 6 – Wednesday 26 November at 4.30 p.m.
School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition – First Degrees and Higher Degrees (Research only)
School of Natural and Computing Science – Higher and First Degrees
School of Biological Sciences - Higher and First Degrees
Ceremony 7 – Thursday 27 November at 10.30 a.m.
School of Divinity, History, Philosophy and Art History – Higher and First Degrees
School of Law – Higher and First Degrees
School of Social Science – Higher and First Degrees
Those taking part in the Procession will be asked to assemble at James Mackay Hall as follows 10.00 a.m. for 10.30 a.m. ceremonies, 1.00 p.m. for 1.30 p.m. ceremonies and 4.00 p.m. for 4.30 p.m. ceremonies.
All members of the University taking part in the Procession should wear dark clothes and (if entitled to do so) academic dress, with gentlemen wearing white bow ties. Ede & Ravenscroft have been appointed as the University's official robe suppliers and will provide staff with academic dress without charge providing the order is placed before the deadline.
If you wish to order academic dress, please indicate your requirements on the form linked above.
It is necessary for me to know by 31 October 2025 how many will be attending the ceremonies to enable us to place the staff gown order in sufficient time to avoid staff being charged for the hire of their robes. Your cooperation in completing the form by this date will be very much appreciated.
