Aberdeen and Beyond Storytelling Festival
Join us for an evening of tales with award-winning writer and storyteller, Martin MacIntyre, who will regale listeners by telling stories of the demigod Cú Chulainn, the warrior-hero Fionn Mac Cumhaill, the beautiful princess Gráinne, and others from the Gaelic tradition and beyond.
Many of the traditional tales that Martin will tell also feature in his book Celtic Myths, retold in a straightforward and compelling way that is easy for children to understand while retaining the romance of the original tales.
A graduate of Medicine from the University of Aberdeen, Martin MacIntyre is an acclaimed bard and storyteller who has worked across these genres for over twenty years. Not limited to oral storytelling, Martin has written nine works of fiction and three collections of poems, including Ath-Aithne (2003), which won the Saltire Society First Book Award. His collection of poems, A’ Ruith Eadar Dà Dhràgon / Running Between Two Dragons (2021) won the Gaelic Literature Award.
