Professor Paul Mealor's Requiem receives USA Premiere at the prestigious Carnegie Hall, New York City on Remembrance Sunday.
Professor Mealor’s new Requiem: The Souls of the Righteous was premiered at St Mary’s Cathedral Edinburgh last month by the National Youth Choir of Scotland and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra in the presence of HRH The Duchess of Cornwall. It received rave reviews and will be broadcast on Classic FM on Remembrance Sunday at the exact same time that Professor Mealor will be conducting the USA premiere of the work at the prestigious, Carnegie Hall in New York City. Hosted by Distinguished Concerts International New York, the Requiem will sound out to the six-thousand strong auditorium. The work, to words by Grahame Davies, is a meditation on suffering and on the pity of war. The piece is a monument to all those who lost their lives during the Great War.
