Music staff have internationally renowned expertise in the areas of performing, composing, musicology and music education. All academic staff enjoy interacting with students, and in particular aim to bring their research specialism to life in their teaching. Staff include trained secondary school teachers who play a leading part in the Music Education curriculum as well as contributing their pedagogical expertise across the board.

Music technology is supported by a full-time Music Technician (Adam Cresser), and a full time Music Administrator (Euan Crabb) leads the department’s administrative support.

Postgraduate students are involved in all areas of departmental life, contributing to teaching and performance activity, and being fully integrated into the research environment.
