December Resit Exams

Exam timetables are available around four weeks before the start of the exams.

After publication of the exam timetable, it will be available:

  • The December 2018 Resit Exam Timetable will be available here as a pdf document.
  • On the Infohub Noticeboard.
  • Fully registered students will be able to view the timetable via MyTimetable.

Some programmes will have exams at other times of the year but your School will advise you if your exams fall outwith the main diets.

Producing the Exam Timetables

The Central Timetabling Team produces the exam timetable based on individual students’ registration on courses. The Team wait until student course selection has finished and run the student registration numbers at the end of the second week of teaching to ensure all selections are captured.

Using specialist software, the exam timetable is calculated to ensure students don’t experience exam clashes based on their individual course choices.  The timetable needs to take account of approximately 13,000 students and takes approximately six weeks to produce.

The Central Timetabling Team is required to produce the exam timetable four weeks before an exam diet commences, however the Team aims to produce the timetable to provide five weeks notice. The Team continues to explore ways to increase the notice period further.

Past papers are a great way to help you prepare for your exams and our exams database is available all year round. To access the database you will be required to provide your usual University logon ID and password.

Disabled Exam Provision

The deadlines for students requesting provisions in examinations are as follows:

Academic Year 2018/19

First Half Session Friday 9  November 2018
Second Half Session Friday 29 March 2019
Resits Friday 7 June 2019

 

If you require any disability-related provisions for your exams that have not already been agreed and implemented for your current course of study, please be aware of the following deadlines, to have provisions implemented for your exams.   If you require any disability-related provisions put in place for your exams, you should contact the Student Disability Team and arrange to see an advisor.  The Student Disability Team can be contacted by email – student.disability@abdn.ac.uk or telephone 01224 273935 to make an appointment with an advisor.

After your exam provision has been agreed, you will then be contacted by your School with your specific exam arrangements shortly before the start of the examination diet.  These arrangements will also show in MyTimetable a few weeks after the main exam venue information has become available.

Results

Exam results come in by set deadlines depending on when the exams are taken ie December, May or Summer Resit Diet. 

  • The undergraduate results deadline is usually no later than three weeks after the exam diet is finished. (Excluding any Christmas closure period)
  • The postgraduate results deadline can be up to four weeks after the exam diet is complete and can sometimes be longer. (Excluding any Christmas closure period)

Your results can be seen through your Student Hub. Unfortunately, results will not be given by telephone.
