The European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology (EULAR) has awarded the group with "Centre of Excellence in Rheumatology" status for the years 2021-2026.
EULAR represents the patient, healthcare professional and scientific societies of rheumatology across all European nations. Its role is to stimulate, promote, and support the research, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of rheumatic diseases. This highly prestigious award is based on the number and quality of our research outputs over the past five years.
Centre Director, Professor Cosimo De Bari said:
“We are thrilled to receive this very prestigious recognition from the EULAR. The renewal of our status of Centre of Excellence in Rheumatology acknowledges the hard work in musculoskeletal science of many talented individuals at the University of Aberdeen and NHS Grampian. This is truly wonderful news.“
The Aberdeen Centre for Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Health is currently one of only 2 centres in Scotland and 32 centres across Europe to have been awarded “Centre of Excellence in Rheumatology” status by EULAR for the period. The Centre previously held the status for the years 2010-2020.
