Equality, Diversity & Inclusion

The Institute of Applied Health Sciences is committed to promoting equality and diversity within an inclusive working and learning environment.  This is key to all we do.

The Institute has an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee that has responsibility for overseeing the implementation of Institute, School and University equality, diversity & inclusion-related policies, including the development of Institute policies and practices to ensure the study and work environment for all students and staff is inclusive, tolerant and accessible.  We work together with other groups in the University, and especially the School Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee to ensure that policy becomes practice.

The Institute hold a Bronze Athena Swan Award and I am currently working with the School to gain an Athena Swan award at School level.  In the meantime the Institute has its own Athena Swan action plan.

The Institute lead for equality, diversity and inclusion is Professor Shaun Treweek. Please feel free to contact Shaun about any issue within the Institute linked to equality, diversity and inclusion.
