UNI-Versal is a brand-new suite of mini festivals launching in 2022 hosted and delivered by the University of Aberdeen. There will be 5 mini festivals, each contributing to a spectacle of shared experiences across the year. Each multi artform festival will promote Aberdeen, Scotland, and its stories to local and international audiences.

Each of the 5 mini festivals will deliver cultural and creative activity linked to key dates in the University calendar. UNI-Versal will offer shared experiences for locals and visitors alike, enabling new stories of Scotland to be shared. Working with partner organisations, UNI-Versal will also link to the region’s narratives underlined by Scotland’s seasons, ‘majestic’ heritage, and the great outdoors. Our aim is to encourage University students, staff, locals and visitors from far and wide to enjoy our historic campus and experience Aberdeen in a meaningful way.

Held in and around both the ancient and modern University campus’ at Old Aberdeen and Foresterhill, as well as other city center venues, UNI-Versal will bring together local residents and visitors to experience our country and its heritage through a cultural and creative lens. It will also link to the University’s 525 years of global history, joining the stories of our past with our hopes for the future as set out in the University’s 20-year strategy,  Aberdeen 2040.

UNI-Versal will be open to all – we welcome our UoA family, neighbors from our local communities and the wider North East of Scotland, as well as visitors from all over the UK and across the globe.

We hope to see you at these exciting mini festivals in 2022.
