You should order robes at least 4-6 weeks in advance of your ceremony, contact Ede & Ravenscroft, the University’s official provider. Please check key dates for the latest date to do this.
Students will require a gown, the appropriate hood and a trencher (hat) all hired direct from Ede & Ravenscroft. If you do not have robes you will not be permitted to graduate.
When you arrive for your ceremony, you should be wearing the gown and the hood or hat.
If you wish to keep your robes for longer than a day, please contact Ede & Ravenscroft in advance to arrange this.
Students can wear whatever they feel comfortable wearing. Military uniform or national costume (including full highland daydress) and/or Blues Medals may be worn. Graduation robes, hoods and trencher colours are dependent on degree, learn what kind of hood you will wear.
Photographs
Ede & Ravenscroft also provide the University's official portrait photography service on graduation days. You can book photographs at the same time you hire your gown.
Photography on the Day
Our officially-appointed photography suppliers, Ede & Ravenscroft, will be providing a unique service for on-stage photography allowing graduates to purchase an image of when they cross the stage. Images will be available to view, purchase and take away after each ceremony.
