Health and Wellbeing day

Health and Wellbeing day
-

This is a past event

Many of us start the New Year with resolutions of being healthier; whether it's to lose weight, get fit, stop smoking, or simply to find more time for ourselves.

Because we care about the welfare of all of our employees, the University is hosting its first Health and Wellbeing day on Friday 8 January 2016 to showcase some of the excellent facilities and support already available to staff.

Come along and chat with representatives from:

  • The Rowett on healthy diets and nutrition
  • Aberdeen Sports Village about their facilities, fitness plans and assessments
  • NHS Grampian on support available to stop smoking or cutting down on alcohol
  • Cycling Scotland on how to stay safe on the road and promote sustainable travel

And get involved by taking part in:

  • A walk, jog or run around the campus with our own Sports and Exercise Team
  • Emergency First Aid training
  • BMI analysis
  • And much more.

There will also be a number of seminars by Professor Steve Heys on breast cancer awareness, Professor James N’Dow on testicular cancer and Dr Graeme Nixon on mindfulness.

A full schedule of activities, seminars and exhibitors is available by clicking here. Please note that timings may change, regular updates will be posted at the link above.
