Centre for the Novel - Annual Public Lecture
-

This is a past event

This year’s Annual Public Lecture is part of the WayWORD Festival, and will take the form of an online discussion, reading and Q&A session with novelist and essayist Jenn Ashworth.

Jenn will be talk about writing, and failing to write, about challenging the restraints of genre, and about the importance of place, environment and trauma in her works. Jenn will share readings from her novel Fell and her latest work, the remarkable “genre-bending” collection of essays (shortlisted for this year’s Gordon Burn Prize), Notes Made While Falling. There will also be a chance to ask Jenn about her writing practice and process, as well as to discuss how the pandemic has altered the way she views her latest novel – written before Lockdown, but not due to be published until next year.

The event will be held on MS Teams. Attendance is free, but please register here: https://www.waywordfestival.com/events/jenn-ashworth
