Classical Association of Scotland: Guest Lecture

Classical Association of Scotland: Guest Lecture
-

This is a past event

The Classical Association of Scotland has a new Aberdeen centre, serving the North of Scotland. Our purpose is to promote knowledge of and interest in classical culture, through events including talks by visiting academics and workshops with local schools. We are a registered charity (SCIO no. SC049690). This semester's events open with a lecture by Prof. Robert Segal on ‘The Myth of Adonis: Myth-Ritualist, Structuralist, and Psychological Approaches’, on Monday 20th January, at 5.15 pm, in MacRobert 302. All are welcome. This will be followed by a series of visiting speakers between now and June (on the first and third Mondays of every month, same time and venue, with a break for the Easter vacation), and our first school event in March. For a full programme, and for membership enquiries, please contact the Chair, Syrithe Pugh (s.m.pugh@abdn.ac.uk), or see our website https://casaberdeenandnscotland.wordpress.com
