Collaborations

We are keen to engage with researchers within our fields of interest. Within the UK we have built strong connections with biocatalysis, bioorganic, medicinal chemistry groups in St Andrews, Edinburgh, Southampton and Durham Universities. Internationally, we have ongoing ties with activities at University College Dublin, Ireland, University of Ghana, Legon, Wuhan University, South China University of Science and Technology, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Shanghai Ocean University in China, the European Institute of Chemistry and Biology (IECB, Bordeaux, France)

Egypt, Norway etc (see articles with Wael etc).

Outreach

We regularly organise or participate in schools chemistry activities and events such as the British Science Week, Chemistry Week, and “Café Philosophique”. Kirstie Rickabie (PDRA) has hosted the “Talking Science” radio show (Shmu radio) for several years, in which we have also participated.

Interested in joining the group?

If you’re interested in joining the group as a PhD student, please email Dr Laurent Trembleau (organic, medicinal and supramolecular chemistry, l.trembleau@abdn.ac.uk) or Dr Hai Deng (bioorganic chemistry, antimicrobial and antiviral discovery, natural product biosynthesis, biocatalysis, synthetic biology, industrial biotechnology and biotransformation h.deng@abdn.ac.uk).
